Length of Coverage

If a person elects to be covered when there is a loss of employment, he or she is covered for 18 months. For all other situations, coverage continues for 36 months. If an employee becomes disabled, they can extend their coverage for an additional 11 months. Individuals who are qualified may need to pay the whole premium for coverage up to 102 percent of the cost of the plan.
